All About Ms. Cannon
Hello everyone! My name is Kayla Cannon, and I will be teaching fourth-grade at Lewis Elementary School. This upcoming year will be my sixth year teaching and my fifth year in the Cobb County School District. I graduated from Kennesaw State University in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science, Early Childhood Education. I started my teaching career as a high school science teacher at Omega Private Academy in Acworth, Georgia. After a year of teaching high school, I chose to follow my heart, and I took a job teaching fourth-grade at Argyle Elementary School. I spent four years at Argyle and loved every minute of the experience, but I am excited to be given the opportunity to join the Lewis family. As far as my teaching style goes, I am laid back, and I love to make the educational experience fun for my students. I use a lot of technology in the classroom because I believe it is a great way to prepare the students for their education, career, and future.
I look forward to meeting all my sweet fourth graders and to an incredible first year at Lewis Elementary School.
I live in Cartersville, Georgia and I am a proud aunt of two nephews and a niece. I do not have any children of my own, but I have a cat named Ham and a dog named Daisy. I love to spend time with my family and friends and cherish the relationships that I have with each of them. In my spare time, I love to play tennis, paint, and "attempt" DIY projects! :) I am also currently in school getting my master's degree in Instructional Technology and am excited to say I will graduate in May 2019!
I could not be more excited about the upcoming school year, and I look forward to meeting all of my students and parents. Please feel free to contact me at any time through the website or school email. Let's have a great year!!!
Love,
Ms. Cannon
